This movie is about a young man have to choice between keeping a promise he made to his brother, who died in a car accident, or going after the girl he loves. Charlie overcomes by grief at the death of his younger brother, Sam. He takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried. Charlie has a special lasting bond with his brother though, as he can see him.
Charlie promises Sam that they will practice baseball together every day, until one night, Charlie was supposed to go graduation party, but his mother makes him babysit Sam, while she pick up another shift at her job as nurse. Charlie try to sneak out to go the party, but he caught by Sam and Sam asks Charlie to drive him to his friend house.
While his brother driving, they talk about Charlie’s departure and horseplay until they get into a bad car accident. Sam asks Charlie to never ever leave him alone, saying that if he does, they will always be together as brothers. Charlie promises they will always be together no matter what happen. Sam died in his arms.
At Sam’s funeral, Charlie runs off after refusing to put Sam’s baseball glove in grave. He finds Sam’s spirit and he can interact with Sam on the physical plane. Five years later. Charlie visits a boat and meets Tess, a sailor who dreams of one day sailing around the world. Charlie falling in love with Tess. Meanwhile, Sam begins to feel that Charlie forgetting him when he late for their game.
After a few days, Charlie discovers that Tess had gone missing while sailing through a storm. Charlie takes a boat to find Tess to save her life. He knows that Tess is not dead. Charlie decides to resign from his job and goes o forest to say farewell to Sam and telling him they always be brothers. Charlie and Tess finally sail around the world.
In my opinion, this story is a good movie and I felt sad when I’m watching it because I can felt that how it happen when we have siblings that close with us and suddenly one of them died while, we had promises together forever.
